Monte Vista Animal Hospital is proud to provide excellent dental care to our patients. We recommend that each patient have their teeth checked at least once per year to identify any issues, such as broken teeth, infections, and periodontal disease. Bacterial infections in the mouth seed the entire body with bacteria and can cause infections in the heart, kidneys, and other organs. Regular dental cleanings and at-home care are vital to the health of our pets.

Internal Medicine Consults
We work closely with a vast network of veterinary specialists locally, through Idexx laboratories, and at UC Davis. Internal medicine specialists can perform comprehensive ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures, and provide guidance in more complicated cases.
Our in-house laboratory facilities boast the same machines used by the large reference labs. We provide full laboratory testing services- serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, cytology, histopathology, and parasite testing. We also work closely with a commercial veterinary laboratory, Idexx, for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
We offer tattooing and microchip identification using the most reliable and biocompatible microchips available.
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also offer a convenient, safe online pharmacy with home-delivery options and competitive pricing.
Our on-site, modern, digital X-ray equipment provides high-quality, instant radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We also have access to board-certified veterinary radiologists to review our radiographs.
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Ultrasonography is a type of diagnostic technique that uses ultrasound waves to produce an imaging study. This means that when we perform ultrasonography, we can see internal images of the patient’s body.
At Monte Vista Animal Hospital, we believe prevention is key to ultimate wellbeing. Our pets can’t speak; they cannot tell us if they feel unwell. Pets will also actively mask signs of illness until late in the course of the disease. Many times the earlier we can catch a disease, the better the chance for a favorable outcome. With this in mind, we recommend bringing your pet in for a wellness examination at least once per year.
